Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) at Maxwell AFB, Alabama is searching for a Chief for Officer Accessions Curriculum to support DEL 1/Det 2 (NH-0340-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent).
Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the lead Program Manager supporting the activities of Space Delta 1 regarding all pre-commissioning curriculum and events for Space Force officer accessions programs within USAFA, AFROTC, OTS, and citizen development programs within SFJROTC. To represent Space Delta 1 at applicable forums regarding officer accessions programs, policies, and execution. To foster healthy relationships across DAF, USSF, STARCOM, and DEL 1 parties to meet commander intent.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this position has experience, background, and knowledge of the US Air Force Academy, US Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), and Officer Training School processes, policies, and execution, and an understanding of how USSF currently leverages these USAF-owned organizations for pre-commissioning education and training of Guardian Lieutenants. Also, an understanding of Air Force Junior ROTC's citizen development mission and it's connection to the existing USSF JROTC units. Highly desire the candidate to have an understanding of education and training concepts/academic management such as curriculum development, Blooms Taxonomy, learning objectives and outcomes, student information systems, and learning management systems. Highly desire the candidate to be an effective communicator, verbal and written, and have experience in researching and developing products for senior-level decision makers at Delta, FLDCOM, and USSF level to include similar levels within USAF structure.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of Public Law, DoD, DAF, USSF, regulations, guidance, instructions and procedures governing the USAFA, AFROTC, and OTS Officer Accessions programs, and SFJROTC citizen development programs.
2. Knowledge of processes and procedures related to program management and strategic planning activities needed to execute projects and/or studies within established budgeted resources and time constraints.
3. Ability to encourage new ideas and innovations; manage human, financial and information resources strategically and build coalitions to achieve common goals.
4. Skilled in working with customers to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations, with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
5. Ability to organize work, set priorities, and determine resource requirements; determine goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinate with other organizations; monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes.
6. Ability to identify problems and use sound judgment and decisions to generate and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations.

- Must be a U.S Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret /SCI security clearance.
- Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "Unscheduled Telework".
- This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
- Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
- PCS / relocation funding is not authorized.
- This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.
- Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): 90 days a year.
