As a Management and Program Analyst at the GS-0343-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Provides strategic direction, oversight, and administration for the Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) Health Benefits Plan (HBP).
- Manages the health plan contract by working with the contracting office and the Third-Party Administrator, which includes reviewing financial reports and data.
- Oversees NAF HBP operations, such as premium determination and open enrollment, and chairs the NAF HBP Committee to build consensus on plan and premium changes.
- Maintains and analyzes health plan data to identify trends and issues, and stays current with health benefits laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Acts as the NAF HBP Privacy Officer to ensure compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

- Knowledge of laws, policies, and principles governing self funded health benefit plan design and administration.
- Knowledge of health care industry and health insurance standards and trends to effectively interact with Health Plan Third Party Administrator.
- Knowledge of contracting processes and procedures and ability to act as a Contracting Officer's Representative.
