Business Intelligence Developer - REMOTE
Federal Government Project | $65.50/hr W2 | 6-Month Contract
Public Trust Clearance Required

Join a dynamic, fully remote team delivering high-impact business intelligence solutions for federal government clients. As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will design and build critical reports, dashboards, and analytics using Microsoft Power BI and Azure data services. Your expertise will drive data-informed decision-making and enhance reporting capabilities across vital public sector domains. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your cloud analytics skills, work with modern Microsoft BI tools, and contribute to meaningful federal projects.

[Responsibilities]

- Engage directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand data needs
- Design, develop, and optimize reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI and other Microsoft BI tools
- Reengineer existing reports to leverage Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL Managed Instance
- Analyze ETL logic and data sources to support efficient data transformations
- Implement performance tuning for reports and dashboards, including DAX, Power Query, and data models
- Collaborate with analysts, data modelers, architects, and engineers to design robust data models
- Ensure high data quality and compliance with data governance policies
- Utilize AI/ML features (e.g., Power BI Copilot) to enhance reporting and analytics
- Support Power BI administration, access controls, monitoring, and workspace management
- Provide user support, assist with help desk incident management, and deliver end-user training
- Actively participate in Agile DevOps processes and continuous skill development

[Required Skills and Experience]

- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years' relevant experience
- 4+ years hands-on Power BI development (Cloud Service, Desktop, Report Server)
- Strong experience with Microsoft BI Stack (Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS)
- Proficient in optimizing DAX, Power Query, and data models for report performance
- Deep knowledge of SQL databases, TSQL, DAX/MDX, flat file data sources, and Azure data services
- Direct experience collaborating with business users for report delivery and support
- Agile project experience and strong analytical/problem-solving abilities
- Detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects independently or as part of a team
- Eligible for Public Trust clearance

[Preferred Skills]

- Federal government project experience
- Expertise in law, HR, finance, inventory, or property management reporting domains
- Power BI and Microsoft Azure data analytics certifications
- Familiarity with data governance, Design Thinking, and Human Centered Design principles
