The Material Manager leads day to day material operations at the IPIF in Crane, Indiana, supporting an Assembly, Integration, and Test environment with some production requirements. The role is responsible for material flow, inventory accuracy, warehouse discipline, and government property accountability, including Government Furnished Equipment and other Government Furnished Property as applicable. This leader ensures materials are received, stored, issued, transferred, documented, and shipped in a controlled manner that supports schedule execution, cost visibility, traceability, and compliance. The position reports directly to the Material Program Manager and serves as the site lead for disciplined material management and GFE control.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead day to day material operations for receiving, storage, stockroom control, issuance, transfer, kitting, shipping, and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure material availability aligns with build schedules, test events, integration priorities, and limited production needs.
- Coordinate across operations, engineering, quality, procurement, program management, and finance to resolve shortages, discrepancies, and schedule risks.
- Maintain strong transactional discipline and serialized traceability within Costpoint and related systems.
- Provide routine status to the Material Program Manager and elevate issues that may impact cost, schedule, compliance, or execution.
- Drive process improvement for material flow, storage practices, system usage, reporting, and accountability.
Government Furnished Equipment and Property Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain government property control procedures that support a compliant GFE management environment.
- Oversee receipt, tagging, identification, and system entry of all GFE and other accountable government assets.
- Ensure proper segregation, storage controls, and controlled access for government assets within the site.
- Manage DD1149 property transfer documentation and ensure supporting records are complete and accurate.
- Support DD250 receipt or shipment documentation, as applicable, to maintain traceable material and property records.
- Support PIEE transactions and reporting requirements tied to government property accountability.
- Conduct and oversee cycle counts and annual physical inventories for GFE and other accountable material.
- Review and approve GFE system transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Lead preparation for DCMA, customer, or internal audits and support timely corrective actions.
- Investigate, reconcile, and resolve property discrepancies, inventory variances, and documentation gaps.
Experience and Skills
JOB SKILLS:
Required-
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7 or more years of experience in material management, warehouse operations, inventory control, or supply chain operations.
- 2 or more years of leadership experience managing personnel in a material, warehouse, or operations environment.
- Experience supporting Assembly, Integration, and Test operations, manufacturing, production, or similar complex operational environments.
- Working knowledge of inventory control, material handling, property accountability, and transactional discipline.
- Ability to analyze material data, identify risks, and implement corrective actions and process improvements.
- Strong communication, organization, and cross functional coordination skills.
- Active Secret Clearance
Preferred -
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint.
- Experience with EQuIP or a comparable government property accountability system.
- Experience supporting DD1149, DD250, and PIEE related transactions.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, government contracting, or another highly regulated environment.
- Experience supporting Government Furnished Equipment, Contractor Acquired Property, or customer owned material.
- Experience leading audit readiness, physical inventory, and discrepancy resolution activities.
Travel
- Up to 10%
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Primarily onsite in Crane, Indiana.
- Frequent work in warehouse, stockroom, integration, test, and operational support areas.
- May require support during inventory events, audits, and schedule critical operations.
