Job Description
SPAARK is seeking highly qualified medical reviewers to provide expert medical analysis and advisory services in support of the Naval Supply Systems Command's (NAVSUP) Reasonable Accommodation (RA) program. This role involves reviewing medical documentation, conducting independent medical evaluations, and delivering objective, evidence-based recommendations regarding workplace accommodations.
This position requires strict adherence to federal regulations, medical ethics, and privacy standards while maintaining independence and neutrality in all assessments.
Responsibilities:
-Conduct independent medical documentation reviews for Reasonable Accommodation requests
-Provide objective, non-biased medical opinions based on clinical expertise and evidence-based standards
-Perform in-person and/or telehealth medical consultations as required
-Evaluate the impact of medical conditions on job performance and essential functions
-Assess the necessity and appropriateness of requested accommodations and recommend alternatives when applicable
-Prepare comprehensive written medical evaluation reports in accordance with government-provided templates
-Respond to follow-up questions and clarifications within required timelines
-Ensure all services comply with federal privacy, security, and medical regulations
-Collaborate with program stakeholders while maintaining independent medical judgment
Qualifications
Qualifications:
-Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from an accredited institution
-Active, unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state
-Professional liability insurance (malpractice coverage)
-Demonstrated experience providing non-personal, advisory medical services (e.g., medical reviews, IMEs, occupational health, disability evaluations)
-Experience assessing a broad range of medical conditions (physical, mental, psychological, etc.)
-Ability to Primarily work remote with potential CONUS travel for in-person evaluations
-Board certification or eligibility in a relevant medical specialty (preferred)
