Cloud Systems Administrator
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Systems Administrator to join our team in a remote capacity within the United States. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to lead and enhance cloud infrastructure support for VA platforms, focusing on security, innovation, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and configure cloud system administration environments and tools to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Implement robust security controls and features to safeguard cloud platforms against cybersecurity threats, particularly within PaaS and IaaS environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tailor VA cloud solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational needs.
• Develop and support innovative solutions to address complex technical challenges, maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.
• Define, communicate, and enforce cloud architecture and administration processes, facilitating a scalable, secure, and compliant environment.
• Provide operational support, troubleshoot issues efficiently, and manage change and incident processes to ensure minimal disruption.
• Mentor and serve as an informal leader for junior team members, fostering a collaborative knowledge-sharing environment.
• Support cybersecurity efforts through security assessments, vulnerability tracking, and remediation planning, ensuring ongoing platform integrity.
• Support on-call and after-hours support as required, including weekends and holidays, to maintain continuous service levels.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience configuring and managing cloud administrative environments across multiple providers such as AWS GovCloud, AWS Commercial, and Azure.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing secure cloud architecture aligned with development methodologies, engineering best practices, and cloud standards.
• Proven ability to guide engineering teams in creating efficient administrative processes and procedures.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly using Hashicorp Terraform, including deployment and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of cloud service management, incident response, and operational troubleshooting.
• Ability to support cybersecurity initiatives by conducting security assessments, reporting, and recommending improvements.
• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—to effectively engage clients, stakeholders, and technical teams.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Experience in incident triage, management, and resolution.
• Supporting engineering applications within cloud environments.
• Managing network resources such as Virtual Machines, Virtual Desktop, Lighthouse, and Active Directory, preferably in Azure.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity vulnerability mitigation and remediation processes.
