Role Summary

As a core member of the Data Product & Operations team, you will shape data standards, oversee data stewardship, and champion continuous improvement, playing a crucial part in advancing national security capabilities. Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain data transformation and enrichment processes aligned with business needs.
Create and enforce data standards, policies, and procedures to uphold data accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Oversee systems for data quality assurance and governance, ensuring ongoing integrity across all platforms.
Identify data issues through assessment and lead initiatives to improve quality and resolve discrepancies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Engineering and Product Managers to ensure data requirements are met.
Document data sources, definitions, and workflows thoroughly to support transparency and auditability.
Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on data sets post-ingestion to confirm standards and requirements are satisfied.
Utilize SQL and Python to query, analyze, and manipulate data, supporting various organizational needs.
Provide training and mentorship to team members on data management best practices and standards.
Manage and prioritize day-to-day Data Stewardship activities, allocating resources for new data initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years managing data teams, with proven leadership skills.
Over 6 years of experience in data stewardship and data management roles within enterprise environments.
Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
Extensive experience with Python for data manipulation, transformation, and scripting.
Solid understanding of data governance principles and their application.
Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts clearly.
Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Existing U.S. security clearance or ability to obtain one.
Experience working within startups or entrepreneurial settings.
Advanced degrees such as a Master's in Data Science or related disciplines.
Knowledge of Generative AI and agent-based technologies.
Familiarity with defense acquisition processes and related data sources.
Track record managing data-focused projects and initiatives.
