Job Description

SATCOM Team Lead (Camp Pendleton, CA).
Availability: Immediate

The SATCOM/VSAT Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of Subject Matter Experts providing C4I systems support to Marine Corps units through both on-site and remote efforts. This role combines technical expertise with leadership and coordination responsibilities, ensuring consistent, mission-aligned support across deployed, garrison, and exercise environments.

The Team Lead serves as the primary interface between the support team, Program Management, and government stakeholders, ensuring priorities are clearly understood, resources are aligned, and support is delivered effectively in accordance with contract objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and coordinate a team of SATCOM/VSAT SMEs supporting Marine Corps tactical communications systems across Camp Pendleton and forward locations.
- Provide advanced technical support for the set-up, configuration, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of VSAT Family of Systems (FOS) and other SATCOM terminals
- Ensure effective support during deployments, pre-deployment preparations, training events, and contingency operations
- Deliver and oversee system interoperability and integration support across multiple fielded C4I systems and tactical networks
- Provide over-the-shoulder training, mentorship, and guidance to both Marines and junior team members
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex system and network issues
- Coordinate with Program Management to align staffing, priorities, and surge support with mission demands
- Maintain visibility on team activities, support efforts, and operational risks, ensuring proactive issue identification and resolution
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures, technical standards, and reporting expectations

Technical Qualifications:

- Advanced understanding of SATCOM systems, including VSAT terminals and associated components
- Deep knowledge of SATCOM signal flow and component-level troubleshooting (LNB, BUC, ACU, power amplifiers, etc.)
- Experience with VSAT-FOS, VSAT-E/RRK, SMART-T, and GBS systems
- Familiarity with Linkway, EBEM, and iDirect modems
- Working knowledge of FDMA and TDMA architectures
- Proficiency with test equipment including multi-meters, spectrum analyzers, and power meters
- Experience with Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems and common network administration tools (terminal emulators, file transfer software)
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documentation and system diagrams

- Familiarity with TracStar/Cobham ACUs
