Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Data Scientist to support our client in Arlington, VA. The Data Scientist will design, prototype, and deploy applied AI/ML solutions that improve workflows, automate data-driven processes, and enable decision support for government stakeholders.
Responsibilities of the Data Scientist include:
· Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML pilot solutions aligned to operational use cases such as workflow automation, document processing, and decision-support analytics
· Develop Python-based solutions for data ingestion, transformation, modeling, and deployment across enterprise systems
· Build and maintain automation workflows using Microsoft Power Automate and similar tools to improve data movement and operational efficiency
· Integrate REST APIs and data services to enable end-to-end analytical pipelines across legacy and modern platforms
· Prepare, clean, and structure operational datasets, resolving inconsistencies for analysis and modeling
· Translate business and operational requirements into technical designs, models, and working prototypes
· Collaborate with technical teams, program leadership, and stakeholders to ensure solutions align with mission needs and support transition to production
Qualifications for the Data Scientist include:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
· 3-6 years of experience in data science, applied AI/ML, or software-driven analytics roles
· Strong Python development experience, including data pipelines, machine learning models, and API integrations
· Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Automate or comparable workflow automation tools
· Experience building or deploying AI/ML solutions such as predictive models, NLP systems, or LLM-based applications
· Experience working with REST APIs and integrating multiple data sources into production-ready solutions
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
· Ability to attend customer meetings in Rosslyn, VA as needed
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
Compensation for the Data Scientist includes:
· Salary Range: $125,000-$140,000 depending on experience
