The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction. Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy's top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPA's decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition. #MC

Responsibilities

The Senior Executive Assistant will provide high-level, comprehensive, and confidential administrative and operational support to the Direct Reporting Portfolio Manager - Submarines (DRPM SUBS). As a seasoned professional, the SEA serves as a critical strategic partner, enhancing the productivity of the executive by managing complex scheduling, communication, and special projects. This role requires exceptional judgment, foresight, and the ability to act as a proxy in high-stakes situations.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. DC Pay Transparency Range: $120k - $160k.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10-years experience providing support to senior-level personnel (SES, Flag Officers, etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams) and experience with virtual collaboration platforms and tools.
  • Ability to anticipate needs, identify roadblocks, and propose solutions.
  • Navy correspondence proficiency.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the capability to draft correspondence in the executive's voice.
  • High emotional intelligence, capable of building trust and navigating comples organizational dynamics.
  • Manage complex, rapidly changing calendars across multiple time zones, prioritizing meetings based on business impact, and proatively resolving conflicts.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the executive and internal/external stakeholders, communicating with a high level of tact and discretion.
  • The ability to drive special initiatives and high-visibility projects from conception to completion.
  • Manage highly sensitive, proprietary information with absolute confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Secret, or higher, security clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) or similar certification.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
  • Manage travel reservations, expense reports via the DTS system, and emergent issues due to travel as they arise.
