- You will conduct internal programs, process, and ship overhaul audits to identify quality problems and opportunities for improvements.
- You will conduct investigations of reported equipment/systems failures to identify responsible parties, root causes and corrective actions needed.
- You will conduct studies of work processes by collecting, sorting, grouping and analyzing process data for quality trends.
- You will review training materials and assist in special quality assurance training classes for employees of the shops.
- You will develop quality assessments of ship overhauls through work documentation review and inputs from cognizant supervisory/management personnel.
- You will recommend quality improvements to shop management based on lessons learned from audits, investigations analysis, and special studies results.

Qualifications

- Experience applying knowledge of naval shipyard policies and procedures related to functional areas such as engineering, planning, production and administration.
- Experience conducting effective personal interviews and training classes and preparing clear, informative written reports.
- Experience interpreting drawings, plans, specifications, job orders, and other documents used by the Production Resources Department Shops.
- Experience applying quality assurance concepts, principles and methodology to utilize in developing and implementing an effective, economical shipyard quality assurance program.
- Experience applying knowledge of audit, investigative and analysis methods and techniques to conduct effective audits/investigations of shipyard programs, processes and products and analyze results on a cumulative basis to identify quality trends.
- Experience applying knowledge of basic ship types, configurations and systems to facilitate shipboard onsite inspections of failed systems/components and promote ease of communications with cognizant civilian and military personnel.
