Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting fire safety inspections in a variety of buildings, including industrial, residential, and high-hazard facilities, to identify and correct fire hazards and ensure compliance with National Fire Codes (NFPA), Navy Directives, and local instructions; 2) Developing comprehensive written reports that document inspection findings, mitigation recommendations, risk analyses, and preparing other prevention-related documentation and official correspondence; 3) Providing fire prevention and protection training to various groups of people on the installation; 4) Applying principles and techniques for fire protection and emergency response to shipboard firefighting; 5) Applying principles and techniques for fire protection and emergency response to nuclear reactor - radiological emergencies; and 6) Applying principles and techniques for fire protection and emergency response to nuclear surety and ordinance emergencies. - You will analyze local conditions and fire prevention or protection programs to verify a fire department meets operational conditions.
- You will perform pre-fire layout inspections of structures to locate potential fire hazards and identify fire protection systems.
- You will develop and conduct training courses for military personnel.
- You will advise on acceptable design of code deficiencies (e.g., facilities layouts, design, construction, building contents, location of fire protection systems, fire alarm system operations, fire suppression systems operations).
