We are seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to support automation, secure software delivery, and environment consistency across enterprise technology initiatives within large Federal environments. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines that integrate development, testing, security, and deployment processes to enable reliable, repeatable, and compliant software delivery. The DevSecOps Engineer collaborates closely with development, quality engineering, security, infrastructure, and operations teams to streamline workflows, enhance system resilience, and support modernization efforts across cloud and hybrid environments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines supporting automated build, test, security scan, and deployment processes.
• Implement and maintain automation workflows for application delivery, infrastructure provisioning, and environment configuration.
• Integrate automated testing, security scanning, and compliance validation into pipeline execution to support secure delivery practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve build failures, deployment issues, dependency conflicts, and environment inconsistencies.
• Collaborate with development, QA, security, and operations teams to improve DevSecOps processes, tooling, and delivery efficiency.
• Support environment standardization and configuration management across development, test, staging, and production environments.
• Enhance pipeline performance, reliability, scalability, and security coverage across the software delivery lifecycle.
• Support modernization initiatives such as cloud adoption, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) implementations.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms to support deployment validation and operational visibility.
• Document DevSecOps processes, pipeline configurations, automation standards, and operational procedures.
• Support release readiness activities, deployment validation, and post-release monitoring and issue resolution.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to planning and delivery of platform and automation capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to improve automation, security integration, and continuous delivery practices.
• Contribute to implementation of DevSecOps governance, compliance, and continuous monitoring frameworks.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps, CI/CD engineering, platform engineering, or automation-focused roles.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using enterprise platforms (e.g., Azure DevOps or similar tools).
• Hands-on experience integrating automated testing, security scanning, and validation processes into delivery pipelines.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery practices.
• Experience with scripting or automation languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar).
• Ability to troubleshoot build systems, deployment workflows, and environment configuration issues.
• Understanding of infrastructure provisioning and environment management concepts.
• Familiarity with secure software delivery practices and vulnerability management integration.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively across development, infrastructure, security, and operations teams.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
• Experience working with Federal agencies, particularly the Department of Veterans Affairs, is a plus.
• Experience supporting Federal Government IT programs, particularly within large healthcare or benefits organizations.
• Experience with containerization, orchestration platforms, or infrastructure-as-code approaches.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, cloud-native services, and hybrid infrastructure models.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools supporting enterprise systems.
• Understanding of DevSecOps governance, continuous compliance, and security accreditation support processes.
• Relevant certifications in DevOps, cloud platforms, or automation disciplines preferred but not required.
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
CLEARANCE:
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
