i3 is seeking a Senior Program Finance Analyst for manufacturing with extensive experience in Costpoint and a strong background in EV (Earned Value), cost accounting, and product cost structures to ensure financial accuracy across production activities. Works closely with program managers and project team to ensure budgets and schedules meet contractual and program requirements as well as governmental regulations. This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

i3 is seeking a Senior Program Finance Analyst for manufacturing with extensive experience in Costpoint and a strong background in EV (Earned Value), cost accounting, and product cost structures to ensure financial accuracy across production activities. Works closely with program managers and project team to ensure budgets and schedules meet contractual and program requirements as well as governmental regulations. This position is located in Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities
- Performs detailed manufacturing cost accounting including standard cost development, burden rate analysis, EV, and BOM cost reviews.
- Supports inventory valuation, WIP tracking, and material cost reconciliations in coordination with Supply Chain and Manufacturing Operations.
- Analyzes material usage efficiency, scrap rates, production throughput impacts, and cost drivers in a light‑assembly environment.
- Develops plans, including budgets and schedules, to meet contractual/project requirements for several major portions of a program.
- Develops and maintains project ETCs, EACs, ROMs, etc.
- Develops and maintains project forecasts to ensure successful completion of projects.
- Ensures compliance with internal customer procedures, such as government procurement regulations.
- Implements program plan requirements and coordinates or performs in-depth studies to determine optimum program plans.
- Assists in developing financial controls, procedures, systems and forecasting techniques to evaluate contract/program status and ensure compliance with government and customer requirements.
- Monitors progress of program requirements. Monitors cost performance against plans to ensure contractual cost obligations are met.
- Prepares moderately complex financial/administrative reports and distributes to customers/user organizations.
- Provides weekly and monthly transactional and pricing support to programs including reviewing subcontractor and vendor invoices to verify costs and codes for payment, auditing employee travel voucher submissions and setting up labor categories and rates in accounting systems.
- Conducts moderately complex financial analysis including variance, risk, and profit/loss analyses, etc.
- Performs some non-routine analyses and prepares some non-routine financial reports.
- Acts as a liaison between operations and other administrative support organizations on financial issues.
- Interfaces with subcontractors, vendors and customers as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Additional experience may substitute for degree.
- 6+ years of relevant experience, preferably within a manufacturing heavy program.
- DoD experience is highly preferred.
- Experience working with program control techniques in the federal contracting environment with experience tailoring to contract type and risk.
- Experience with Deltek - Costpoint, COGNOS, T&E.
- Experience with EV (Earned Value).
- Experience working with manufacturing programs.
- Preferred: Certified Managerial Accountant or experience with Management and Cost Accounting in a production environment.
- Preferred: Experience with setting up production, kitting, and/or assembly programs.
- Preferred: Experience with Cost Point Material module.
- Experience utilizing Costpoint to budget and forecast labor, travel, procurement, etc.
- Experience working with financial analysis.
- Possess strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and able to comprehend verbal instructions.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and other MS Office tools.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
