Engineering Associate Graduate Associate

Serco has a challenging opportunity to work as an Engineering Associate within our Maritime Engineering Operation (MEO) group supporting NSWC (Naval Surface Warfare Center) PCD (Panama City Division).

In this role, you will assist all levels of engineers with their tasks and assignments. You will utilize knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. You will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. You will work under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Our team supports the full life cycle of Navy research and development projects with planning, procurement, engineering, technical, and testing support and has been recognized by multiple Navy customers for outstanding performance.

Under Direct Supervision, you will:
  • Performs analysis and research on sonar systems, lidar, and subcomponents to identify COTS product offerings available for use.
  • Attend and aid engineering staff in conducting Maritime and Land based testing events in hot and cold temperature climates.
  • Support long durations of testing during work weeks and weekends as required
  • Travel to remote testing locations as required as part of Government engineering team.
  • Assist engineering staff with test planning documentation, field operational testing, and data recording.
  • Attend technical meetings and capture notes for further actions.
  • Prepare MS office suite documentation products utilizing programs such as excel, word, PPT, and Visio.
  • Perform engineering tasks for system design and redesign under supervision of senior engineering staff.
  • Engage in f amiliarization with NAVSEA, standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of electrical repair, fabrication, and installation


To be successful in this role, you must have:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and currently attending a local accredited University and pursuing a degree in the field defined as a "STEM" discipline or a related discipline.

STEM education takes a hands-on, interdisciplinary approach to teaching these subjects, encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration.)
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds to assist with project requirements.
  • Be able to support land and marine based testing in isolated environments if required.
  • Be familiar with Microsoft Office suite programs.
  • A current state drivers license (USA) and a clean driving record
  • US Citizenship and the ability to gain access to our customer sites.
  • Successfull pass a background check, drug screen to include a finger print check
  • Ability to obtain and maintain and active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and gain access to our customer site, undergo a background investigation and pass a drug screening
  • Ability to obtain an OSHA 10 certification
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
