Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has a opening for a Staff Engineering Planning Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego CA.

In this role, you will serve as the Enterprise Engineering Planning Lead responsible for project management across the Triton Enterprise SEIT programs with a primary focus on the Development program, reporting to the Triton Systems Engineering IPT Lead. This role will require you to lead the baseline and execution tracking efforts of the Triton Inc 2 Completion Mod proposal in conjunction with the Triton SEIT development leadership team. You'll also be responsible for ensuring consistent processes are applied across the other enterprise programs for cost and schedule management.

You'll execute tasking such as IMS development and management, Earned Value reporting, Variance (VAR) tracking and explanation, risk and opportunity management and task planning and setup across planning tools with various Systems Engineering discipline leads. Consequently, this role requires deep familiarity with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles and extensive experience with project planning, program execution, workforce tracking and workforce planning tools.

This role can be filled by any combination of onsite and remote work though it will operate on Pacific time in alignment with the Rancho Bernardo, CA campus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support SEIT IPT lead and sub-IPT leads in proposal development, baselining and program execution tracking across the Triton portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain detailed Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) to align with systems engineering objectives
  • Support discipline leads in detailed task planning and insertion into the program increment (PI) plan. Manage and track progress in conjunction with discipline leads and program leads
  • Analyze variances, identify root causes, and support corrective action planning with discipline leads
  • Assist Control Account Managers (CAMs) with planning, budgeting and performance tracking.
  • Develop proposals for future Systems Engineering efforts, leveraging past work performance to develop and defend future work for Triton Systems Engineering IPT
  • Support identification, assessment, and tracking of program risks and opportunities
  • Develop cost and schedule control best practices for use across enterprise programs


Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelors degree in a STEM field and at least 12 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field and at least 10 years of relevant military/ professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 8 years of relevant military / professional experience
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in program planning, scheduling, cost management, or risk management.
  • Must have Experience supporting EVMS on DoD or similarly structured program
  • Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable time as determined by business needs.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current DoD secret security clearance
  • Familiarity with EVMS guidelines (EIA-748)
  • Demonstrated experience leading cost management efforts across disparate technical disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and implementing EVM System Description documents
  • Familiarity with Agile EVMS methodology
  • Experience with proposal management, BOE development and BOE defense with customer
  • NGC CAM certification


Primary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
