Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Test Engineer to support our Proving Grounds site in Elk River, MN.
Headquartered in Plymouth, Minnesota, Northrup Grumman is a leading innovator and producer of advanced weapons that provide the warfighter superior battlefield capabilities. The division specializes in creating low-cost, highly reliable and precise munitions for artillery and mortar systems and is a world leader in developing and producing tactical and training ammunition for medium and large caliber weapon platforms. Armament Systems also creates systems that protect soldiers on the battlefield and reduce collateral damage.
Our Elk River site consists of a serene 3,200 acres, with over 20 active buildings, and numerous projects supporting development, manufacturing and testing for Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems Division. Our Manufacturing Engineering team works to continuously improve, support, and maintain manufacturing activities of Medium Caliber Ammunition and Warhead production through a variety of self-directed daily tasks and larger team projects. This role supports 1st shift operations on a 4/10 schedule.
Position Description:
As a Test Engineer, the work activities will include supporting a variety of programs and projects across the Engineering and Operations Organization. The employee will be part of a Test Engineering Team for planning, execution/conduct, and summary reporting of development and production phases of testing for a variety of munition programs and projects. This is a full-time direct type position.

Primary Level Salary Range: $66,200.00 - $99,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Typical Duties:
- Typical duties will include but not be limited to the following:
- Work in a munitions test environment with medium to high complexity systems.
- Plan/oversee/operate tests with many different types of cannon caliber gun systems, environmental testing, warhead testing and demilitarization of energetics.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Engineers, Production Control, and Test Technicians in a fast paced environment.
- Generate Detailed Operating Procedures for test technicians that allow them to safely and effectively conduct testing.
- Manage test schedules and provide cost estimating figures to programs and be accountable for these schedules and costs provided.
- Ensure Preventative Maintenance and Calibration of test equipment is complete.
- Ability and interest for international travel to support customer contracts.
- Ability to multi-task.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related STEM field of study
- 1-3 years' experience with electrical systems highly desired
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- High electrical aptitude preferred
- Prior testing experience with gun systems is a plus
- Computer proficient
