Responsibilities
The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within mission-critical environments such as data centers and secure facilities. This includes performing preventive and corrective maintenance, responding to emergencies, and ensuring all systems operate at peak efficiency to support continuous uptime.
- Operate and maintain electrical systems including switchgear, UPS, generators, batteries, and life safety systems.
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Monitor and control building systems using Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Respond to faults, deficiencies, and emergency situations to ensure safety and system reliability.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of maintenance activities and system performance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, vendors, and contractors to support facility operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to understand site-specific processes and procedures such as how to report an incident or outage, procedure execution, PM standards, Work Orders tracking system.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in electrical maintenance, including work with generators,
controls, and life safety systems. - Experience in mission-critical environments such as data centers or industrial facilities.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and lifting equipment over six feet.
- Active electrical license (as required by location).
- Compliance with all city, state, and federal licensing and certification requirement
Preferred Qualifications:
- AA/BS degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or Journeyman Electrical License with relevant experience.
- OEM or military training in electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, maintenance protocols, and quality control procedures.
- Ability to evaluate complex electrical systems, diagnose malfunctions, and estimate parts and labor requirements.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation and schematics.

Abilites:
- The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to [50 pounds] on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, and unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.
- Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
- Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
- Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
- Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
- May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
- Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
