  • Leads research for the adoption of new technology and equipment to improve the organization's operations and business practices.
  • Documents planning and programming decisions in appropriate formats to meet Air Force requirements.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13 or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: experience in in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques in obtaining and analyzing data necessary to support significant project recommendations. Experience with operating systems, associated devices, and the interoperability of systems sufficient to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, test, and maintain those systems; to optimize the functionality and performance of systems; and to ensure the availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of server

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
  • Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques in obtaining and analyzing data necessary to support significant project recommendations; management functions, processes, practices, theories, techniques, and principles to analyze and define problems and make recommendations on difficult problems or complex issues or questions; in applying a wide range of management techniques and principles including program evaluation and development, organization of people and resources, and allocation of resources; and of performance tuning tools, database management, and project management methods sufficient to optimize systems performance, troubleshoot database performance problems, and perform a wide range of systems administration functions
  • Knowledge of applicable AF, Federal and DoD rules, regulations, instructions, practices, principles, and procedures regarding all facets of case management; of the organization, program goals and objectives, work processes, internal operations, and relationships within USAF Security Forces and PMO relationships and agreements with internal USAF stakeholders and external organizations
  • Knowledge of information technology (IT) acquisition/procurement requirements; knowledge of IT architectural concepts and frameworks; knowledge of new and emerging IT and cybersecurity technologies
  • Knowledge of operating systems, associated devices, and the interoperability of systems sufficient to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, test, and maintain those systems; to optimize the functionality and performance of systems; and to ensure the availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of servers. Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies. Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles
  • Knowledge of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data security standards. Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk). Knowledge of specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses. Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements. Knowledge of supply chain risk management standards, processes, and practices.
  • Skill in identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system; interfacing with customers, mission partners and presenting information to DoD Senior Leaders

  • Ability to ensure security practices are followed throughout the acquisition process; ability to evaluate/ensure the trustworthiness of the supplier and/or product; ability to oversee the development and update of the lifecycle cost estimate.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
