Job Description:
Our team provides support to the airplane's Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), Corenetwork, Avionics Gateway (AG), CWLU, Maintenance Access Terminal (MAT) across various Airplane models. Our work helps airlines access real-time airplane data that they need to make important decisions. We work closely with the testing team to help troubleshoot and find the root cause of problems that can arise within these systems. We are a fun and collaborative team located in Everett, WA and work 100% onsite. We are seeking a experienced Electrical Network and Digital Connectivity System Product Support Engineer.
This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network systems and digital connectivity solutions to support our cutting-edge aerospace projects. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, have proficient understanding of network and software systems, and an understanding of how those systems deploy within different architectures across multiple different airplane models. This person will be able to translate high-level technical requirements to specific architecture and operational specifications, including the physical integration of complex electrical systems and components into our airplanes, as well as communicating with customers and stakeholders expanding across multiple organizations to implement high quality and service ready hardware and software systems. You will validate designs through both laboratory and airplane testing and work with aircraft systems from initial concept through certification, delivery, and production lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and document moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements
Designs hardware, software and interface specifications
Coordination with suppliers on the development of hardware, software and interface specifications
Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
Assists in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
Research specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs
Participate as a contributing member to any airplane installation designs and certification efforts for Network and Digital Connectivity Systems and Airplane Programs
Develop operational use cases of systems and how to evaluate them
Utilize Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) to develop architecture mapping and set the stage for simulated test environments
Develop and execute detailed, integrated test procedures/plans
Define and configure Lab setup for Testing
Create software scripts to support and/or automate testing procedures and analysis
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Work with Linux/UNIX Operating Systems
Knowledge of network, hardware and software systems and technical architecture.
Experience in systems engineering involving system requirements, functional decomposition and allocation, integrated design, analysis and evaluation, verification.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of FAA certification.
Experience with system design and integration during an airplane development program.
Experience working and communicating with cross functional teams.
Demonstrated project management skills within a fast paced highly integrated environment.
Experience with Model Based Development tools.
Experience in computer networking systems, with a strong ability to troubleshoot and debug issues in aerospace software and hardware environments.
Ability to read software logs and code
Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
