At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a Cyber Technical Analyst, a typical day will include the following duties:

GCI is looking for a highly motivated and experienced expert Cyber Technical Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate is responsible for the below:
  1. The resource will integrate data from various sources and work closely with mission partners from the customer and develop effective technical concepts.
  2. The resource will conduct network analysis to characterize and understand complex network environments, develop network topology maps, identify potential vulnerabilities and pathways, and assess the overall network security posture of a target environment.
  3. The resource shall support technical overwatch for customer projects.
  4. The resource will analyze and leverage collected data to enhance operational insights and support partner objectives and identify opportunities to improve data analysis and knowledge management through the development of automated processes and analytics capabilities.
  5. The resource shall leverage knowledge, capabilities, and accesses to identify opportunities for the customer cyber projects.
  6. The resource shall provide technical analysis support to customer network projects.
  7. The resource will analyze network traffic patterns to distinguish between typical and atypical activity, informing the development of best practices and risk management strategies.
  8. The resource shall conduct network analysis to identify user and technical patterns.
  9. The resource shall conduct technical analysis to determine impact to projects.
  10. The resource shall solve cyber problems through projects, data-driven analytics, and development.
  11. The resource shall identify and develop methodologies to advance customer projects.
  12. The resource shall document analysis in accordance with industry and customer best practices.
  13. The resource will utilize a range of technical tools and capabilities, including advance analytics and data management systems, to support project objectives, enhance data analysis, and improve knowledge management, while also identifying and mitigating potential technical risks.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of cyber operations and testing.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting network forensics and internet traffic characterization.
  • Demonstrated experience applying strong analytic and critical thinking skills, including the ability to think strategically.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of analytic tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with customer or Maryland customer technical targeting tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with scripting.
  • Demonstrated experience with Windows and Linux command line tools.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of IT defensive best practices.
  • Demonstrate experience with effectively expressing complex ideas and insights verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience paying attention to details, ensuring accuracy in documentation and data.
  • Demonstrated experience remaining open-minded and changing opinions based on new information and requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience explaining and presenting complex technical information in a form understandable to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse groups of people in mission critical environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with self-motivation and creative problem solver.
  • Demonstrated experience working multiple projects, at once, with minimal guidance.
  • Demonstrated experience with Python programing for data extraction and processing, including handling divers file formats and extracting relevant information.
  • Demonstrated experience with network protocol analysis using various tools and interfaces.
  • Demonstrated experience crating logical network diagrams from various data sources.

Education Requirement
  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience)

Experience Requirement
  • 11+ years of experience


A candidate must be a US Citizen and requires an active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
