The Project Support Engineer (PSE) is responsible for providing project engineering services in support of the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO), Emergent Availabilities (EM), Continuous Maintenance Availabilities (CMAV) and Window of Opportunities (WOO).
Base Salary: $32.53/hr. and $5.09 H&W

Job Summary:
The Project Support Engineer (PSE) is responsible for providing project engineering services in support of the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO), Emergent Availabilities (EM), Continuous Maintenance Availabilities (CMAV) and Window of Opportunities (WOO).

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing support of planning, execution, and closeout of various ship availabilities and the engineering representative.
- Review the Third Party Planning (TPP) work specifications ensuring it matches the work notification and supports the desired scope of the work aboard the ship. Provide comments into Naval Maintenance Database (NMD).
- Verify associated references are updated and applicable.
- Verify required (V), (I), and (G) point observations are correct.
- Verify inspection criteria for "acceptance" or "rejection" are listed in the work specification. Ensure final acceptance testing, documentation and reporting are addressed and appropriate to the level of work performed.
- Attend all pre-availability planning meetings - participate in addressing technical issues and coordinating resolution of technical authority issues during the development of work specifications. Provide technical recommendations to the advance-planning manager.
- Work with Project Teams/QAS to ensure accuracy of the QMP. Apply lessons learned from previous availabilities to assist with the assignments of technical PVIs.
- Ensure critical system work item specifications are reviewed by the appropriate technical code via the ESR process. Provide technical comments provided by the technical code to the maintenance team for incorporation.
- Ensure all work specifications involving critical systems and processes identified have a required Process Control Procedure (PCP). Provide a consolidated list of expected PCPs.
- Provide support as the primary NSA point of contact for technical matters, including serving as the SWRMC Engineering Department's primary liaison between the Project Team and Engineering Department during Contracted Maintenance Availabilities.
- Track ESRs to resolve questions, technical issues, and deviations originating during the maintenance availability.
- Schedule, coordinate and perform ship checks and/or meetings with Project Team and technical codes to resolve technical issues, questions, and deviations.
- Initiate Corrective Action Requests (CAR) when there is a failure by the LMA/Project Team to conform to contractual specifications or NAVSEA technical requirements.
- Provide technical support and support coordination during critical reporting periods such as surge deployment preparation or INSURV.
- Attend production and status meetings when ships are of significant fleet interest.
- Identify/report status and resolution of technical issues and/or FTAs in preparation for INSURV ship inspections, functional checkouts, and demonstrations of critical equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years' experience with US Navy maintenance, systems, equipment, operations
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and in written format
- Must have an active SECRET Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior U.S. Navy service
- Degreed Engineer or BS in Math or Science
