Introduction
We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Software Delivery Packager to join our team. This role involves automating software installs for applications installed on every computer in a global customer environment. You will be responsible for stewarding our automation software and packaging processes, while also mentoring junior software packagers and engaging with our ASCP packagers.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Must be eligible to obtain a Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance.
- Senior software packaging skills with experience in AdminStudio and SCCM.
- Proficiency in scripting related to application installation processes.
- Familiarity with software packaging best practices and industry standards.
- Deep knowledge of MSI, including tables, components, permissions, custom actions, self-repair, advertised shortcuts, etc.
- Thorough understanding of the Windows 7 Operating System including registry, file structure, user profile, and differences between 32 and 64 bit.
- Ability to resolve package conflicts for DLL, OCX, and other existing applications.
- Experience using tools such as REGMON, FILEMON, PROCESSMON, and Beyond Compare for issue resolution.
- Familiarity with ACT (Application Compatibility Toolkit) to resolve Windows 7 compatibility with legacy applications.
- 7-8 years in software packaging, systems administration, and/or IT infrastructure.
- College/University Degree.
- Prior work experience in the client's industry.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with App-V.
- Experience with InTune.
- Experience in process improvement and staying current on technology trends.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Technical package build and testing in alignment with requestor requirements and customer standards.
- Mentoring, training, and coaching junior team members while keeping them engaged and informed.
- Meeting and collaborating with internal customers and project teams to define requirements, overcome complex technical issues, and schedule activities.
- Stewarding packaging software and improving processes.
- Maintaining strong relationship management skills and positive business relationships.
