Job Summary
  • Seeking an Agile Developer to support the modernization of a legacy operational system through the design and development of cloud-native, microservices-based solutions leveraging cutting-edge technologies
  • This role focuses on building scalable, high-performance services within an AWS cloud environment, enabling improved system flexibility, maintainability, and operational efficiency
  • The developer will work within an Agile team to deliver secure, reliable, and mission-critical capabilities

Primary Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Java Spring Boot-based microservices leveraging AWS native services
  • Develop and optimize cloud-based solutions using Python, including integration with AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, EC2, and S3
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs capable of filtering and processing complex data objects
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Maven, GitLab, and GitOps methodologies
  • Develop solutions within a cloud-native environment, utilizing containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
  • Collaborate within Agile teams to support iterative development, continuous integration, and rapid delivery of software
  • Integrate and support rules engine-based processing within application workflows
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance and scalability
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment on technical solutions and delivery priorities

Required Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret clearance with Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph within the last 5 years
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • 9+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong experience with:
    • Java and Spring Boot microservices development
    • Python for cloud automation and optimization
    • CI/CD tools (AWS-native tools, Maven, GitLab, GitOps)
    • Cloud environments, particularly AWS
    • Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
    • Rules engine integration and development

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with AWS services, including Lambda, Step Functions, S3, and EC2
  • Experience with document-based data stores (e.g., MongoDB, OpenSearch)
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., RDS, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks, such as Cucumber
  • Understanding of microservices design patterns and distributed systems

Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate's experience and qualifications.

The pay range for this role is:

160,000 - 220,000 USD per year (NBP)
