MANTECH seeks a motivated, career, and customer-oriented Functional Specialist Advisor / Strategic Planner to join our team in Springfield, VA.
This role supports an expeditionary operations office by providing strategic planning and special project support for ongoing initiatives within a deployed Area of Responsibility (AOR). You will be a key member of a team responsible for directing project activity, tracking status, and applying best practices to support a volunteer deployment team.

This role supports an expeditionary operations office by providing strategic planning and special project support for ongoing initiatives within a deployed Area of Responsibility (AOR). You will be a key member of a team responsible for directing project activity, tracking status, and applying best practices to support a volunteer deployment team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting leadership in identifying funding requirements, constraints, and cost-share considerations for new projects in deployed locations.
- Supporting senior representatives and working group members of facilities and logistics boards by participating in meetings and maintaining detailed records.
- Preparing documents and supporting crisis action tasks while providing monthly metrics to identify trends and current operational support status.
- Working closely with partners to prepare informational and decision briefings for executive-level leadership.
- Utilizing expert knowledge of deployed operations to evaluate deployment requirements and functional capabilities.
- Developing and presenting white papers and briefings regarding special projects that impact various directorates and other agencies.
- Interfacing directly with senior leadership to provide expert information and advice during critical update and status meetings.
- Ability to work independently or under limited supervision to deliver outcomes on time.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience within a related functional or business area.
- 11+ years of experience in a distinct functional or cross-functional business area, including knowledge of applicable tools and best practices.
- Demonstrated experience organizing, planning, coordinating, and managing complex strategic plans.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite and various desktop publishing tools to create professional deliverables.
- Experience interacting with senior-level directors and executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of the Department of Defense (DoD) and the specific challenges of a deployed environment.
- Prior experience supporting expeditionary operations or logistics-focused government offices.
- Relevant certifications in project management or strategic planning methodologies.
Clearance Requirements:
- An active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copier, scanner, and computer printer.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
