The MDA C4ISR Engineering Department (N262) is dedicated to delivering world-class engineering solutions and technical leadership to enhance next generation Missile Defense capabilities. Its mission is to enable resilient, adaptive, and scalable weapon systems that counter emerging threats and safeguard national security and the homeland.
The Department is seeking a highly motivated systems engineer with STEM-related education and experience to serve as an Intermediate Strategic Missile Defense Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will support the MDA Weapons Systems strategic defense program offices, advancing the Next Generation Missile Defense System sensors development.
The job is a Huntsville, AL-based position; this work location is required to effectively foster staff relationships and shape the direct work program.

- Develop integration and testing strategies between multiple MDA elements to ensure successful connectivity and functionality of the system
- Assess performance of systems, software, and hardware engineering studies to inform technical and programmatic decisions
- Work as part of an integrated product team environment partnering technical outcomes across multiple stakeholders and organizations
- Promotion of collaboration and knowledge sharing across the organization, harnessing diverse perspectives and solutions to address sponsor challenges
- Drive innovation in next generation sensors including but not limited to Requirements Development, Interoperability, System Performance Assessment, Weapon Systems Integration and Testing, Operational Deployment Decisions
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems engineering or other similar engineering degree
- Typically requires 1-2 years of related experience with a related Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances. This position requires ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Familiarity with software language(s) such as MATLAB, Python, C/C++
- The job is a Huntsville, AL-based position; this work location is required to effectively foster staff relationships and shape the direct work program
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.
- This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on radar or C4 systems engineering
- Experience working in Missile Defense programs
- Masters Degree in technical engineering major (Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, etc)
- Current TS/SCI clearance
