Job Description

The Test Specialist/Engineer is responsible for supporting laboratory, ground, and flight test events to verify MIDS JTRS and airborne ATDL system compliance with MIL-STD-6016, STANAG 5516, and program-specific performance requirements. They will play a supporting role in achieving the organization's goals by developing detailed test plans and procedures, conducting interoperability and waveform testing, analyzing message traffic and performance metrics, and documenting deficiencies to support corrective action and regression testing. This position will directly impact program qualification, interoperability certification, and fleet fielding timelines through disciplined test execution, data-driven analysis, and comprehensive technical reporting.

CORE FUNCTIONS / JOB DUITES

An Entry Test Specialist/Engineer will be able to perform the following, under close supervision:

Assist in the setup, operation, and tear down of the test architecture of various systems and sub-systems.

Assist in the execution of test procedures, analysis of test results, and generate final test documentation.

Support the troubleshooting of test issues and apply standard troubleshooting techniques to identify the issue with systems, support systems or interfaces. Provide operational support for trouble report resolution activities to include system problem isolation/detection and resolution.

Support in the capture and collection of test data of each system and support system.

Support in the development of test cases, test procedures and test scripts, as required by the project/program.

Provide required periodic input for status report and/or Trouble Report Retest Status (TRRS) to the project lead. Submits all required input on time and with accuracy.

Assist with identification, troubleshooting, and resolution of system issues (bugs/TRs), as needed.

Assist with data collection, preliminary data analysis, data removal, data transfer, provide any data analysis information for Test Observation Reports (TORs), and reach back support, as needed.

Participate in project-oriented meetings for the management, progression, and or closure of support activities.

A Junior Test Specialist/Engineer will have the ability to perform the following, with some supervision:

Set up, operate, and tear down the test architecture of various systems and sub-systems.

Execute test procedures, analysis of test results, and generate final test documentation.

Generate test scripts within systems to support execution of test procedures.

Participate in the development of Test Plans and Test Procedures. This includes identifying test objectives and determining methods of evaluation.

Decompose test requirements from various systems and interface specifications to test specific capabilities of a system.

Apply standard troubleshooting techniques and utilize common data analysis tools to support the validation, root-cause and troubleshooting of issues observed or documented during testing.

Participate in generating required test reports and/or Trouble Report Retest Status (TRRS) and provide to the Project Lead.

Participate in identification, troubleshooting, and resolution of system issues (bugs/TRs), as needed.

Participate in data collection, preliminary data analysis, data removal, data transfer, provide any data analysis information for Test Observation Reports (TORs), and reach back support, as needed.

Support in the training of junior members of the team.

Periodically stand-in as Event Lead to support during testing or may lead a small team.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

GED and/or equivalent years of experience

Preferred BS STEM Degree

The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.

PAY RANGE

ENTRY LEVEL: $80,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually, DOE

JUNIOR LEVEL: $100,000.00 to $ $125,000.00 annually, DOE

U.S. Citizenship is Required

SECURITY CLEARANCE

Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
