Job Description

The Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring the successful integration, configuration, and verification of MIDS JTRS and airborne ATDL systems in accordance with MIL-STD-6016, STANAG 5516, and program-specific requirements. They will play a supporting role in achieving the organization's goals by supporting requirements decomposition, interface analysis, waveform configuration management, discrepancy resolution, and coordination with Government and Industry stakeholders during integration and test activities. This position will directly impact system interoperability, certification readiness, and fleet capability delivery through disciplined systems engineering execution, validated performance testing, and technical risk mitigation.

CORE FUNCTIONS / JOB DUITES

An Entry level Systems Engineer will be able to perform the following, under close supervision:

Assist in designing, developing, and testing computer systems, including hardware, software, and networking components.

Assist in integrating multiple systems, hardware, and software components to ensure seamless functionality.

Participate in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving system issues (bugs), as needed.

Collaborate with cross- functional teams, including software development, test/QA, technical support, technical writing, system architects, configuration management, and all levels of program management.

Contribute to the documentation of system designs, System Requirement Documentation (SRD), System Requirement Specification (SRS), software user manuals, configurations, requirement traceability matrices, risk assessments, System Engineering Management Plan, Interface control documents, version description documents, fault tree assessments.

Assist with key activities across all phases of the engineering life-cycle, including requirements analysis, system design and architecture, implementation and integration, testing and verification, documentation, and troubleshooting and maintenance.

Research systems engineering methodologies, tools, and best practices; stay updated on industry trends.

A Junior Systems Engineer will be able to perform the following with supervision:

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues (bugs), as needed.

Work closely with cross- functional teams, including software development, test/QA, technical support, technical writing, system architects, configuration management, and all levels of program management.

Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of system designs, System Requirement Document (SRD), System Requirement Specification (SRS), software user manuals, configurations, requirement traceability matrices, risk assessments, System Engineering Management Plan, Interface control documents, version description documents, fault tree assessments.

Participate in the systems engineering life-cycle by supporting and assisting with key activities across all phases, including requirements analysis, system design and architecture, implementation and integration, testing and verification, documentation, troubleshooting and maintenance, and collaboration.

Research and systems engineering methodologies, tools, and best practices; stay updated on industry trends and support in the training of junior members of the team.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

BS STEM Degree - Required

INCOSE ASEP (Associate) Certification Preferred

PAY RANGE

ENTRY LEVEL: $80,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually, DOE

JUNIOR LEVEL: $100,000.00 to $ $125,000.00 annually, DOE

U.S. Citizenship is Required

SECURITY CLEARANCE

Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
