Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for Systems Engineer - Level 2 or 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Huntsville, AL.
Position Overview:
The selected Systems Engineer will be a part of the Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) product line under the Architecture and Delivery (A&D) Integrated Product Team. Through this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the cornerstone of The Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) layered missile defense architecture and advance a 60+ year mission to defend our homeland. You'll develop systems engineering products that directly support the design and development of GWS (Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS)) capabilities on behalf of The Missile Defense Agency (MDA)

This requisition may be filled at either a Systems Engineer - Level 2 or a Principal Systems Engineer - Level 3.
Basic Qualifications (Systems Engineer - Level 2 or 3):

Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Essential Functions:
- Decompose customer specification documents into Clear, Verifiable, and Achievable requirements utilizing DOORS.
- Develop Verification Compliance Strategizes that detail how we plan to verify derived requirements and what data is required to provide the evidence.
- Own requirement or verification packages, and hold reviews and adjudicating comments from Product Teams, SMES, and the Customer to baseline Packages.

Basic Qualifications (Systems Engineer - Level 2 or 3):
- Systems Engineer Level 2: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 0-2 years of related work experience.
- Systems Engineer Level 3: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 3 years of related work experience, or a PhD. and 1 year of related work experience.
- 1+ year of experience with requirements decomposition and management (2+ Years for the Level 3 role)
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
- Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical content to audiences of varying backgrounds.
- Applicants must be able to work on-site in an office environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs.
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated independent planning, organization, and working in cross-functional teams with a customer focus.
- Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and associated tools.
- Experience authoring requirements or developing verification strategies.
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS
- Understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model
- Experience with Requirement Verification methods
- INCOSE or System Engineering certification
- Experience with Agile Development
- Experience with Test
- GMD Knowledge
