The Next Generation Launchers (NGL) Technical Director will lead the architecture and execution of NGL programs-including the Common Autonomous Multi Missile Launcher (CAML), Next Generation Launchers, and Hypersonic Launcher-serving customers in the U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency, and U.S. Navy. This role ensures launcher system designs meet stringent requirements, oversees engineering teams to achieve technical milestones, and serves as the primary technical liaison with program customers.

THE WORK
In this role you will:
• Architect launcher system architectures that satisfy unique customer requirements across Army, MDA, and Navy programs.
• Guide engineering Integrated Product Teams to develop technical work products and meet milestone schedules.
• Lead technical reviews, integration working groups, configuration control boards, and failure review boards as the primary technical liaison.
• Coordinate resource planning to ensure technical staffing and expertise are aligned with program needs.
• Ensure technical integrity of launcher products through rigorous oversight and risk management.
• Collaborate with Mission Systems & Weapons Chief Engineers, Program Managers, Production, and cross functional teams to align technical solutions with overall program objectives.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
- 8 + years of progressive experience in system engineering.
- Demonstrated ability leading cross-disciplinary - engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of product development processes.
- Proficiency in earned value, schedule, cost, and risk management techniques.
- Experience with cost estimating / proposal development.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex, high risk programs on schedule and within performance / cost constraints.
- Willingness to travel up to 25 % (including customer sites, testing facilities, and overseas locations).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level

- Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at both programmatic and technical levels with subordinates, peers, senior management levels and customers.
- Exceptional written and oral communication-able to produce clear technical documentation, brief senior customers, and present complex concepts succinctly.
- Military product development and customer experience including Department of Defense, Missile Defense Agency, US Navy, US Army and/or Marines
- Knowledge of Digital Transformation (DX) principles and ability to drive implementation of improvements.
- Knowledge of Vertical Launching Systems, Expeditionary Launching System, and Advanced Launcher Products.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
