Description:You will be the SAS/Low Observable Aircraft Lead Technician, F-22 - Level 4 for the Low Observable Aircraft Maintenance Team which is responsible for delivering high-precision modifications, repairs, and overhauls on the F-22 fleet. This position is located at Langley AFB, VA.
What You Will Be Doing:
As the SAS/Low Observable Aircraft Lead Technician, you will be responsible for leading the team that ensures aircraft readiness, safety, and mission success through meticulous low-observable maintenance and technical coordination.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Communicate daily with management and SAS-LO engineering on work status, material availability, and production issues while enforcing safety and housekeeping standards.
- Assign work, conduct FOD walks, and perform daily tool/equipment inspections, reporting any damage or loss promptly.
- Read and interpret F-22 engineering drawings, technical manuals, and structure repair manuals; fabricate shims, brackets, and plates using precision measuring equipment and hand/power tools.
- Repair, replace, and overhaul low-observable and structural systems, documenting procedures and ensuring airworthiness.
- Maintain accurate work records, timekeeping, and attendance reporting; order parts and generate lost-tool reports as needed.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an Interim Secret clearance to start with the ability to obtain a Final Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements:
This may include certain military required health screenings and immunizations. This position regularly requires to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist. Confined Space Entry. Position may also require extended work hours.
Basic Qualifications:
- Candidate must have held a 5 or 7 Skill level USAF AFSC, Navy NEC, or Marine MOS discipline rating or an equivalent Airframe and Power Plant, FAA certificate.
- 5th Generation Fighter Aircraft Crew Chief/Sheet Metal Experience, and or Low Observable Coatings application experience and training, or equivalent 10+ years combined F-22 experience
Desired Skills:
- F-18/F-15/F-22/F-35 Experience CC/Str/Low Observable Coatings application experience and training
- Corrosion Control application experience and training,
Knowledgeable of Tool Control, FOD, Supply, HAZMAT, Training, Quality, Production control and Security programs
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
