Sentar is seeking a Network Operations Administrator in Charleston!

Role Description:

The Network Operations Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining both cloud and on-premises networking environments. This role includes overseeing virtual private networks (VPNs), cloud-based networks and virtual network appliances, and on-premises networks and its hardware. The NetOps Admin will ensure the performance, availability, and security of the CSSP network infrastructure and the connections to our subscribers. The role requires applying proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of systems investments.
  • Manage and monitor cloud networking solutions, such as AWS and Azure. Configure and sustain on-premises networking infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Set up, oversee, and maintain virtual private networks (VPNs) for secure remote access. Monitor and maintain the CSSP VDSS.
  • Ensure network performance is high and optimal. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly. Implement and oversee network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and network access controls.
  • Regularly tune network performance, plan capacity, and assess scalability. Execute network hardware and software upgrades and patches as necessary.
  • Keep network documentation up to date, including diagrams, configuration guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Work with other IT teams to integrate and enhance network resources for various applications and services.
  • Oversee network-related projects, from planning to implementation and documentation.
  • Keep abreast of the latest network technologies, trends, and best practices.

Qualifications:

Clearance Level: Secret with eligibility for upgrade to Top Secret (TS)

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or possess equivalent work experience.

Certifications: Must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II and DoD 8140 CSSP Auditor compliant certifications.

Additional information:
  • This position requires a US Citizen.
  • Position may require up to 25% travel as needed
  • OCONUS travel may be required

Experience:
  • Have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering.
  • Work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Conduct research into network issues and vendor products as needed.
  • Prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment
  • Be available for on-call after-hours rotational support as necessary.
  • Proficiency in cloud networking solutions (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure VNet)
  • Experience with on-premises networking hardware (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto)
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios)
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and practices
  • Experience with Elasticsearch Enterprise
  • Experience with Kibana dashboards and establishing alerts
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong documentation skills

Highly desired skills:
  • Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and network automation tools
  • Knowledge of F5 and NGINX technology for networking
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible PowerShell) for network automation
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and practices
  • Experience with network performance tuning and security monitoring tools
  • Experience using the Atlassian suite of tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Service Management)

Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), AWS Certified Advanced Networking, or CompTIA Network+
