We are seeking a Mid-Level Data Scientist to support AI pilot initiatives across federal programs. This role focuses on designing and delivering practical machine learning solutions that solve real operational challenges in secure government environments.
You will work within an Agile team to build prototypes, integrate APIs and automation tools, and help transition successful pilots into scalable, production-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities
AI/ML Solution Development
- Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML pilot solutions aligned to mission needs
- Build use cases such as:
- Workflow automation
- Document processing
- Decision-support analytics
- Develop Python-based solutions for:
- Data ingestion and transformation
- Model development and deployment
- Integrate data across systems using APIs
- Build automation workflows using tools like Microsoft Power Automate
- Improve data movement and operational efficiency
- Integrate REST APIs and data services to create end-to-end pipelines
- Connect legacy and modern platforms into unified analytical solutions
- Clean, structure, and transform complex datasets
- Apply machine learning techniques including:
- Predictive modeling
- NLP
- LLM-based solutions
- Translate business and operational needs into technical solutions
- Collaborate with engineers, leadership, and stakeholders
- Support transition from prototype to production
- Document models, workflows, and data pipelines
- Support sustainment and long-term adoption
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
- 3-6 years of experience in data science, AI/ML, or analytics roles
- Strong Python development skills (data pipelines, ML models, APIs)
- Experience with:
- REST APIs and system integrations
- Automation tools (Power Automate or similar)
- Building or deploying AI/ML solutions (NLP, predictive models, LLMs)
- Ability to translate real-world problems into technical solutions
- Experience supporting government or regulated environments (preferred)
- Strong communication skills (technical + non-technical audiences)
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Experience with Microsoft Azure AI / Machine Learning services
- Familiarity with AWS GovCloud or Azure Government
- Understanding of MLOps and model lifecycle management
- Experience working in Agile environments with rapid prototyping
- Python, APIs, and data pipeline development
