The journey begins here - with Global- a 1st Flagship Company, we are currently looking for an Inventory Control Specialist. This role is crucial for maintaining inventory and accountability of all materials and supplies required for the Inactive Ship Maintenance Office Philadelphia site operation.
What You'll Be Doing :
- Familiarity with aspects of Costpoint/Purchase order system as required by management; Will have the ability to assist Purchasing Agent when necessary; responsibilities as deemed necessary by Supply Manager.
- Assisting management during 10% monthly cycle counting of GFE and ERP inventories. Will be accountable for making sure that the counts are completed as scheduled and reporting to the department manager with monthly update.
- Conducting monthly cycle/inventory counts of non-inventory items as required by management. Will report all information to Supply Manager
- Maintaining picture files of all tools received.
- Assisting in shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to packing lists and distributing both paperwork and product to requester as needed.
- Assisting with staging materials from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas as needed.
- Helping with sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins when required.
- Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method as delineated by Stand Operation Procedures (SOPS).
- Assisting in preparing parcels for shipping. Will be proficient in preparation and packaging of tools, parts and equipment for shipment. Understand the use of FedEx Software, documentation and label creation.
What You'll Need to Succeed :
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Two (2) years' experience working in a warehouse or inventory position.
- Should have knowledge of general inventory procedures / practices.
- Ability to use and/or learn Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel.
- Must have a current driver's license and meet the requirements of the company's Vehicle Safety manual.
- Must be comfortable working in varying environments (weather) as well as working on/around ships.
- Must have the ability to qualify as a Forklift Operator within 90 days of beginning employment as the Inventory Control Specialist.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five (5) years' experience working in supply or a warehouse, or equivalent military experience in Supply and Logistics.
