Data Scientist - Air Force Special Operations Command

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Data Scientist - Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) to support a company focused on delivering advanced analytics and data-driven capabilities to the U.S. Department of Defense. This position is on-site at MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, FL. The Data Scientist - Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) will work directly with analysts and mission stakeholders to develop analytical models, generate operational insights, and support AFSOC modernization initiatives. This is a mission-critical role supporting special operations where data directly informs real-world decisions.

Responsibilities for the Data Scientist - Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) include:

• Developing, testing, and deploying analytical models to support operational and strategic decision-making
• Performing data cleaning, feature engineering, and exploratory analysis across structured and unstructured datasets
• Building repeatable workflows and lightweight pipelines to support analytics and model execution
• Creating dashboards, reports, and visualizations to clearly communicate findings to mission stakeholders
• Collaborating with analysts, operators, and technical teams to translate mission requirements into data science solutions

Required Qualifications for the Data Scientist - Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) include:

• 1+ year of experience in data science, analytics, or a related technical field
• Proficiency in Python or similar scripting/programming languages
• Strong understanding of data handling, SQL, and basic modeling techniques
• Experience with Palantir Foundry or other Palantir platforms
• Active Top Secret clearance

Compensation for the Data Scientist - Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) include:

• Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 (depending on experience)
