Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer to join a leading federal contractor that delivers advanced IT, cybersecurity, and mission support services to government agencies, focused on driving innovation and securing critical national operations. This role is onsite in Newington. VA. The Systems Engineer role will design, implement, and optimize secure VDI environments to support mission-critical operations, ensuring performance, stability, and compliance within a high-security, fast-paced government setting. * Applicants must currently obtain a Top Secret security clearance*

Responsibilities of the Systems Engineer:
- Design, architect, and enhance VDI environments, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with mission and security requirements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, administrators, and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and implement effective technical solutions
- Operate in a high-tempo, mission-critical environment, managing competing priorities while maintaining system reliability and performance
- Support and execute initiatives that directly impact mission success, ensuring VDI systems meet operational and user needs
- Leverage both technical expertise and strong communication skills to drive problem resolution, optimize workflows, and deliver high-quality outcomes
Qualifications for the Systems Engineer:
- Bachelors Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with Omnissa Horizon hosted on vSphere
- Experience managing thin clients with an element manager (i.e. Wyse Management)
- Understanding of the impact of GPO's on a VDI image
- Experience with profile management solutions
- Familiarity with DSA STIGs
- Experience with VDI monitoring solutions (i.e. Liquidware Stratusphere)
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting language
- Familiarity with Image as Code solutions (i.e. Hashicorp Packer)
- CompTIA Security+ Certification
- Active Top Secret Clearance
- Desired Skills:
- FSLogix
- Dell Wyse Management Suite
- Familiarity with NDES and 802.1x
- Familiarity with endpoint security solutions (i.e. Crowdstrike and Trellix)
- Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
- Familiarity with app packaging tools such Liquidware FlexApp
Compensation for the Systems Engineer:
- Salary Range: $150,000 - $170,000 *depending on experience*
