Business Development Analyst

Overview

BlueWater Federal is looking for a Business Development Analyst to support growth initiatives across Department of Defense (DoD) programs by conducting market analysis, opportunity identification, and capture support activities.

This role bridges business development, operations, and technical teams to drive data-informed decisions and improve win probability on federal contracts.

Responsibilities

• Analyze DoD market trends, procurement forecasts, and competitor positioning to identify and qualify new business opportunities.
• Support capture and proposal efforts by developing artifacts such as pipeline reports, SWOT analyses, and customer insights.
• Maintain and enhance opportunity tracking tools (e.g., Salesforce, GovWin, SAM.gov) to ensure accurate pipeline visibility and reporting.
• Collaborate with BD, capture managers, and technical teams to refine win strategies, pricing inputs, and solution alignment.
• Conduct data analysis on past performance, contract vehicles, and customer buying patterns to inform strategic growth decisions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience within the DoD or federal environment.
• Must have an active Secret clearance.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the federal acquisition lifecycle, including RFI/RFP processes, contract types, and procurement vehicles (e.g., IDIQs, GWACs).
• Experience using market intelligence and CRM tools such as GovWin, SAM.gov, FPDS, or Salesforce.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and executive-level briefings.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Military experience can be used in lieu of a degree
