Systems Analyst 3 - GitHub Enterprise & DevSecOps | Hybrid | $79-$89/hr | Austin, TX
About the Role
Join the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) as a Systems Analyst 3 specializing in GitHub Enterprise administration and enterprise-scale DevSecOps enablement. Operate in a dynamic hybrid environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance automation, security, and compliance for mission-critical software development. This contract position offers exposure to state-wide technology initiatives and the opportunity to influence DevOps best practices across a large organization.
Responsibilities
- Administer, optimize, and secure GitHub Enterprise environments (Cloud/Server)
- Drive governance, compliance, and access controls using RBAC, SAML/SSO, and branch protection
- Automate workflows and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and YAML scripting
- Integrate pipelines with AWS and other cloud platforms to enable rapid, secure deployments
- Implement and monitor DevSecOps practices, audit logging, compliance reporting, and access reviews
- Leverage scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate manual processes and enhance productivity
- Utilize GitHub Advanced Security tools (CodeQL, Secret Scanning) to safeguard codebases
- Analyze business processes, document requirements, and deliver system process improvements
- Collaborate with IT, development, and security teams to ensure audit readiness and standardized practices
Required Skills and Experience
- 8+ years' experience in Git-based version control administration and GitHub Enterprise management
- Hands-on expertise with RBAC, SAML/SSO, branch protection, and workflow automation (YAML)
- Proficiency in scripting languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell
- Experience integrating CI/CD pipelines with AWS and conducting access/compliance reviews
- Proven background in DevSecOps enablement and using GitHub Advanced Security tools
Preferred Skills
- 4+ years' experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep)
- Familiarity with policy-as-code implementations
- Ability to document governance standards and developer guides
- Experience leading technical enablement sessions
