Job Summary
As a Tactical Vehicle Mechanic - Armament you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining armament systems on tactical vehicles and artillery platforms, including M1 Abrams tanks, Bradley Fighting Vehicles, and Howitzers (e.g., M109 Paladin). This role ensures all weapon systems are fully operational, safe, and compliant with U.S. Army standards and technical manuals.

Job Summary
As a Tactical Vehicle Mechanic - Armament you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining armament systems on tactical vehicles and artillery platforms, including M1 Abrams tanks, Bradley Fighting Vehicles, and Howitzers (e.g., M109 Paladin). This role ensures all weapon systems are fully operational, safe, and compliant with U.S. Army standards and technical manuals.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on vehicle-mounted and artillery weapon systems (e.g., 120mm tank gun, 25mm chain gun, TOW missile launcher, .50 cal machine guns, and 155mm Howitzer systems).
- Inspect and service fire control systems, recoil mechanisms, and stabilization systems.
- Conduct bore sighting, calibration, and functional testing of weapon systems.
- Follow applicable Technical Manuals (TMs) and Army maintenance standards.
- Document all maintenance actions in GCSS-Army or equivalent systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality assurance procedures.
- Use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to identify faults in armament systems.
- Replace or repair defective components such as breech assemblies, recoil systems, hydraulic and electrical subsystems.
- Perform operational checks after repairs to confirm readiness.
- Request and track armament-related parts and materials.
- Maintain accountability for tools and equipment used in armament maintenance.
- Provide technical guidance to junior mechanics and operators.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a NACI. Due to this, you must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Green Card holder who has lived within the United States for at least the last 3 years to be eligible for this position.
- Must currently have or possess the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- High School Diploma or GED (Technical training in armament systems preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in tactical vehicle and artillery maintenance with armament systems.
- Experience in the following MOSs: Abrams Tank Systems Maintainer (91A), Bradley Fighting Vehicle System Maintainer (91M) and Small Arms/Artillery Repairer (91F).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing weapon systems on armored vehicles and artillery platforms.
- Familiarity with Army maintenance procedures and GCSS-Army.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Ability to lift heavy components and work in field conditions.
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.
