General Function:
- Plan and execute comprehensive systems engineering activities in accordance with the latest AFLCMC Engineering Directorate Systems Engineering Guide, as well as applicable Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command and division-level policies, ensuring compliance across all program phases.
- Apply strong Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience to support system architecture development, requirements traceability, and lifecycle management using digital engineering methodologies.
- Review, evaluate, and provide actionable recommendations for integrating technical requirements derived from U.S. Government directives into program execution and engineering baselines.
- Assist in the preparation and validation of technical specifications and standards in alignment with MIL-STD-961E and AFLCMC systems engineering guidance.
- Coordinate and integrate multidisciplinary engineering inputs to establish a cohesive, end-to-end systems engineering perspective across hardware, software, and support systems.
- Provide systems engineering and system security engineering technical support, including recommendations for tasking assignments aligned with program priorities and risk areas.
- Develop and recommend systems engineering inputs for acquisition and contracting artifacts such as Statements of Objectives (SOOs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Data Item Descriptions (DIDs), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Support the development of derived requirements, verification methods, and performance/system specifications, ensuring traceability and validation through MBSE tools and practices.
- Contribute to source selection activities by defining evaluation criteria, technical standards, and Instructions to Offerors (ITOs) consistent with program requirements.
- Demonstrate expertise in systems integration across system definition, development, verification, testing, sustainment, and interoperability for both airborne and ground-based systems.
- Apply knowledge of digital engineering and agile software development principles to enhance system design, integration efficiency, and iterative delivery of capabilities.
- Assist in the development, review, and continuous update of systems engineering program documentation to address evolving requirements, risks, and technical challenges.
- Support risk management processes by helping plan and execute systems engineering risk assessments, coordinating action items, and maintaining risk metrics and reporting.
- Contribute to Human Systems Integration (HSI), crew station engineering, Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E), and airworthiness certification activities.
- Support the Airworthiness Certification Working Group (ACWG) by developing and maintaining Modification Airworthiness Criteria Certification (MACC) compliance packages and conducting airworthiness risk assessments.
- Assist in planning and executing Airworthiness Review Board activities to obtain military flight releases and Military Type Certificates.
- Develop draft technical and programmatic documentation within constraints of cost, schedule, and performance to support certification and integration efforts.
- Perform analysis of program databases, including Built-In Test (BIT) failure reports, and validate accuracy through comparison with BIT Interpreter Analyzer outputs.
- Provide system integration guidance to aircraft program offices, including installation, maintenance considerations, and evaluation of technical proposals.
- Review and analyze reliability data, including Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) reports and field data (e.g., G081 database), and assist in managing discrepancy reports (DRs) to ensure proper classification and resolution.
Qualifications:
Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:
- MA/MS Degree with 10 years of directly related experience or BA/BS with 12 years of directly related
experience or 15 years of directly related experience to this discipline. - Must possess and maintain a government security clearance at the Secret level.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs (including Excel, Word, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project).
- Must be able to perform all functional duties independently.
- Must be able to transport self to various facility sites, as required. If using own motor vehicle, must possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
