Duties

• You will be responsible for developing, planning, coordinating, reviewing, monitoring, evaluating and updating all operations including training areas, Townsend Bombing Range (TBR) training facilities, training devices and special use airspace.
• You will collect, compile, and conduct special studies of statistical and other data to assess shortcomings, program progress, and to develop approaches and methods to improve operations and advise/assist commanders and senior staff officers.
• You will safely allocate and coordinate the use of facilities and training ranges to include air and airborne activities within the Restricted Airspace.
• You will provide senior level decision making and Branch priorities to guide subordinate staff.
• You will closely monitor employee safety training and ensure appropriate action is taken to alleviate any unsafe or unhealthy training.

• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position is considered Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
• You are required to POSSESS and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
• Must attend and pass Intermediate Level Range Safety course, Geographic Information System (GIS) for Range Managers, and Military Airspace Managers Course (or equivalent).
• Must attend and pass Administrative Laser Safety Officer Course, the Tactical Laser Safety Officer Course or the Laser System Safety Officer's Course either Category 1 or 2.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Collecting, compiling, and conducting special studies; 2) developing approaches and methods to improve range operations; 3) reviewing and approving correspondence pertaining to range operation; 4) conducting inspections of range activities and facilities; 5) and interpreting regulations and directives.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
