Koniag Data Solutions (KDS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced FISMA Lead to support critical federal cybersecurity compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented subject matter expert with extensive knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks, reporting requirements, and compliance standards. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage complex reporting cycles, interface with senior stakeholders, and ensure organizational compliance with evolving federal cybersecurity mandates.
The FISMA Reporting Lead will serve as the principal cybersecurity compliance expert responsible for managing all aspects of FISMA reporting, federal cybersecurity compliance, and information security program implementation. This role combines strategic planning, technical expertise, and stakeholder management to ensure organizational adherence to federal cybersecurity requirements. The FISMA Reporting Lead will serve as the principal cybersecurity compliance expert responsible for managing all aspects of FISMA reporting, federal cybersecurity compliance, and information security program implementation. This role combines strategic planning, technical expertise, and stakeholder management to ensure organizational adherence to federal cybersecurity requirements. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Develop and manage comprehensive processes for improved FISMA compliance data collection and quarterly reporting submission
- Lead the development and submission of quarterly and annual CIO FISMA metrics in compliance with OMB, CISA, and Congressional requirements
- Oversee system inventory reconciliation and manage Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) error reporting
- Monitor, analyze, and coordinate organizational responses to Executive Orders, White House cybersecurity directives, CISA Binding Operational Directives, and Emergency Directives
- Create and maintain detailed schedules, timelines, and project plans for reporting cycles, automation initiatives, and compliance-related projects
- Ensure organizational compliance with FedRAMP requirements and other federal security frameworks
- Conduct comprehensive system security assessments and maintain associated documentation
- Perform advanced data analysis and create executive-level reports for stakeholders across all organizational levels
- Serve as principal contact for cybersecurity analysis, implementation, operations, and monitoring of IT infrastructure
- Proactively identify and address imminent threats to prevent risk exposure and system disruptions
- Lead the planning, design, development, and deployment of cybersecurity technologies for administrative, technical, and security applications
- Develop and execute strategies for system development quality assurance (QA) program management
- Establish and monitor QA metrics and processes to assess SDLC, testing, and configuration management compliance
- Prepare position papers, executive submittals, presentations, memoranda, and correspondence on cybersecurity matters
- Recommend and implement operational policies, procedures, and criteria for information security systems
- Participate in web-based applications, network, and systems designs to ensure implementation of security policies and procedures
- Review and evaluate security incident response policies and implement measures to ensure awareness and compliance
- Conduct periodic systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews
- Map technical requirements to security controls and maintain reporting accuracy across multiple platforms
- Provide expert guidance to software and database designers on building secure web-enabled applications
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external groups working on legal, internal audit, physical security, and information security matters
Education and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited college or university
- 7+ years of experience in federal cybersecurity compliance, FISMA reporting, or information security program management
- 5+ years of experience working within federal government IT environments
- Demonstrated experience managing FISMA reporting processes and federal cybersecurity compliance programs
- Extensive knowledge of OMB, CISA, and Congressional cybersecurity reporting requirements
- Experience with FedRAMP compliance and authorization processes
Preferred:
- Master's degree in related field
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Expert knowledge of FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST cybersecurity frameworks, and federal compliance requirements
- Comprehensive understanding of OMB policies, CISA directives, Executive Orders, and White House cybersecurity mandates
- Advanced project management skills with ability to create and manage complex schedules, timelines, and deliverables
- Exceptional analytical skills with proven ability to perform data analysis and create comprehensive executive-level reports
- Strong technical writing skills for developing security documentation, position papers, and policy recommendations
- Demonstrated expertise in Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) management and system inventory reconciliation
- Proficiency in conducting system security assessments and vulnerability assessments
- Knowledge of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes, quality assurance methodologies, and configuration management
