Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior ServiceNow Systems Administrator to support our federal clients with the administration, optimization, and secure operation of the ServiceNow platform. This role requires advanced ServiceNow expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead system upgrades, migrations, and enhancements. In addition to ServiceNow administration, the ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in networking concepts to support integrations, performance monitoring, and secure connectivity across environments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the administration, configuration, and maintenance of the ServiceNow platform across federal client environments.
- Oversee and execute system upgrades, patches, and migrations, ensuring compliance with federal governance and change management standards.
- Triage and resolve complex ServiceNow incidents and service requests, serving as an escalation point for junior administrators.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce platform best practices, SOPs, and configuration documentation.
- Perform scripting and light development (Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Catalog Items, Workflows) to implement compliant solutions.
- Apply networking knowledge (e.g., IP addressing, DNS, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, certificates) to troubleshoot connectivity, integrations, and performance issues.
- Support platform integrations (REST, SOAP, APIs, MID Servers) with awareness of secure network design and government standards.
- Collaborate with federal stakeholders, program managers, and cross-functional consulting teams to deliver solutions that align with mission objectives.
- Ensure platform compliance with federal IT policies, NIST security standards, and FedRAMP requirements.
- Mentor junior administrators and provide technical leadership within the consulting team.
Required Skills:
- 5–7 years of hands-on ServiceNow administration experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
- Demonstrated expertise in ServiceNow system upgrades, migrations, and complex configurations.
- Proficiency in ITSM modules and familiarity with ITIL frameworks.
- Strong scripting skills in JavaScript within the ServiceNow platform.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS, firewalls, proxies, load balancers, VPNs).
- Experience troubleshooting network-related issues affecting integrations and platform performance.
- ServiceNow System Administrator and ServiceNow Application Developer certification required; additional ServiceNow certifications (Implementation Specialist, ITSM, ITOM) preferred.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills with the ability to lead discussions with federal stakeholders.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust or security clearance (as required by the client).
Desired Skills:
- Federal consulting experience with agencies or defense clients.
- Hands-on knowledge of ServiceNow ITOM and network monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks (FISMA, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP).
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale integrations across secure networks.
