Duties
SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The purpose of this position is to operate special-purpose aviation fuel tanker vehicles to receive, transfer or dispense fuels or liquid oxygen (LOX).

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Must have at least 12 months of experience or training which demonstrates the ability to operate one or more motor vehicles including platform trucks, van trucks, fuel trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, and trash removal trucks which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 11,700 kilograms (26,000 pounds) and up to 14,400 kilograms (less than 32,000 pounds). Experience operating vehicles and tractors, some of which may be equipped with special-purpose powered equipment. Experience operating platform, van, stake, and dump trucks, refueling vehicles passenger buses or ambulance buses.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires standing, climbing, walking, working in straining positions and lifting heavy objects (50-70 pounds). Must meet physical requirements of position, including those of vision, hearing, and depth perception.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside and outside in all weather conditions and in close proximity to highly combustible fuels and vapors. Dangers of toxic poisoning, explosions, burns, falls and skin irritants exist. Required to wear personal protective items to ensure safety in accordance with AFOSH standards.
MILITARY TECHNICIAN COMPATIBILITY POSITION: Prior to placement in this position, the selected applicant must be assigned to an appropriate military position and must meet the definition of a dual status technician in accordance with 32 U S C 709.

Other Requirements: For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

- Operates one or more types of special purpose aviation fuel tankers that exceed 32,000 pounds of Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) to fuel a variety of military aircraft.
- Performs required fuels/cryogenics quality control testing.
- Performs all accounting transactions pertaining to requisitioning, procuring, scheduling, ordering, reporting, and document preparation for aviation fuels, ground fuels and missile propellants.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
