We're seeking an entry-level detail driven Accounting Clerk to support JRC's Finance team in a DoD government contracting environment , with a focus on invoicing, cost accounting, and timekeeping compliance . You'll help ensure accurate billing across multiple contract types (e.g., cost plus, time and materials, fixed price) , maintain auditready records, and keep our financial operations aligned with federal requirements .

In this role, you'll prepare invoices and cost reports, review timesheets and expenses in the accounting system (i.e., Unanet) , and partner closely with finance leadership and project teams to keep deliverables on track. This role is for someone with interest in Defense, national security and looking for a career with JRC. What You'll Do
  • Prepare monthly invoices for Government contracts such as cost reimbursable, time and material (T&M), and fixed price contracts.
  • Compile and validate costs incurred, including labor, Other Direct Costs (ODCs), travel, and subcontractor charges.
  • Review and approve timesheets in accordance with DCAA timekeeping standards and JRC policy.
  • Reconcile flextime balances, overtime records, and labor rate accuracy.
  • Review expense reports for compliance with Federal travel regulations (e.g., JTR) and company requirements.
  • Generate cost reports and support internal project manager and division management requests.
  • Assist with month-end close activities and special finance projects.

What You Bring to the Table
  • A bachelors' degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related field-or Associates degree with equivalent handson experience.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets, cost data, labor reports, and billing workflows.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization/prioritization, and followthrough.
  • A collaborative, missionfocused, and customer-service mindset.
  • Able to work at minimum 3 days in a JRC office, preferably DC office.

Bonus Points
  • 1+ years' experience with accounting and ERP systems used in GovCon environments (e.g., Unanet, Costpoint).
  • Familiarity with FAR/CAS, DCAA audits, indirect rate structures, or government cost accounting.
  • Prior experience supporting DoD, DHS, or other federal contracting programs.
