Junior Software Engineer (C++ Focus)
We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join a growing team supporting advanced product development efforts. This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer—or even a strong recent graduate—who is eager to build their skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
This role will primarily focus on C++ development, contributing to the design, development, and improvement of software solutions. Prior experience in government contracting, aerospace, or defense-related work is a plus, but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the development and ongoing support of software applications based on defined technical requirements
Contribute to new product development initiatives and help implement innovative solutions
Support the creation of data analysis, visualization, or tooling capabilities
Work with both new and existing codebases across different systems and environments
Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure quality and performance
Help troubleshoot and resolve software issues as they arise
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system design decisions, including evaluating existing solutions vs. building new ones
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred
Open to strong recent graduates or candidates with ~1 year of professional experience
Equivalent hands-on experience may be considered in place of a degree
Technical Skills
Experience with C++ is strongly preferred (must be used in practical projects or work—not just listed as a skill)
Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts (Java or similar languages is a plus)
Exposure to software development lifecycle practices, including testing and debugging
Nice to Have
Experience in GovCon, DoD, or aerospace environments
Exposure to product development work
