Cloud & Network Systems Engineer
Department: IT/ Security
Location: 320 Congress Street, Floor 1 Boston, MA 02210

At Autonodyne we specialize in the command and control of autonomous vehicles. Our software suite sits at the nexus of Human-Machine Interface & Autonomy Behaviors. We are searching for a Cloud & Network Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate can effectively provide technical engineering support to ensure the development, security, and availability of cloud systems, networks, and related hardware and software within the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Engineer and administrate cloud services and solutions to include cloud virtualized environments, servers, networks, M365 services like Intune, Purview and Entra.
• Design, build, and operate virtualized and container platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi; Docker/Kubernetes/AKS) focused on availability, scalability, performance, and security.
• Design, maintain, and scale GitLab and integrations with Jira, Confluence and security tools like SonarQube/Fortify.
• Develop, administer, and maintain Jira, Confluence, and GitLab (projects, workflows, permissions, integrations, SSO) to support engineering operations.
• Design and implement networks and configurations across different technology stacks to include Fortinet and Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, VPN and cloud services.
• Apply DISA STIGs and CIS Benchmarks across cloud, virtualized, and on‑prem systems; track compliance, waivers, and exceptions; maintain auditable artifacts.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and backup strategies integrating telemetry with SIEM and alerting systems to support operational resilience.
• Document technical designs, configurations, build/run books, change records, and A&A evidence for secure environment operations.
• Automate assessment and remediation using Nessus and other tools to integrate with patching and configuration management workflows.
Minimums Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Comp TIA Security+ CE or equivalent IAT Level II Certification
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as systems engineer or other IT related role.
• Proficient general information systems knowledge and application to include knowledge regarding secure configuration of different operating systems, networking equipment and cloud computing environments
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to think critically and resolve technical security problems efficiently.
• Experience with technical writing and documentation, including creating clear engineering artifacts, configuration guides, security control implementation records, and audit‑ready evidence.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive attitude and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
• US Citizenship required.
• Active DoD SECRET Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Cybersecurity, computer science, or related field.
• Pentest +, CEH, CISSP, or additional certifications beyond IAT Level II Certification
• Knowledge of scrum and agile software processes.
• Experience engineering and administrating specific tools to include Jira, Confluence, GitLab and others.
• Industry experience in the autonomy software and/or unmanned systems field.
• Active DoD Clearance or above SECRET.
Travel:
This position will likely involve travel to customer and non-customer sites principally in North America (up to 20%), but global travel is also possible.
Other Criteria:
Strongly prefer domicile near the Boston/Cambridge metro area but will consider non-local domicile – relocation to Boston area part of compensation package, if necessary.
Security clearance: Active secret is required, TS with SCI eligibility preferred.
Salary Range: $100,000-$150,000
