Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Requirements and Verifications Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in either San Diego, CA or Palmdale, CA.
Roles and Responsibilities include:
In this role, you will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Primary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Roles and Responsibilities include:
- Developing Requirement Verification Plans (RVPs) from approved requirements and design reviews for new and changed features.
- Coordinating reviews and approvals of the RVPs for Verification Methods
- Supporting the collection & review of the Verification Data Products from System Test to ensure the verification date meets the intent and scope of the RVS/RVP
- Developing Requirement Verification Records (RVRs) and coordinated internal Systems Engineering and Integration review and customer review and approval of the RVR.
- Working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Responsible Engineers (REs) to gather analysis and data for requirements with Verification Method of Analysis or Inspection
- Developing and release System Test & Verification Plan for each IFC
- Developing and release System Test & Verification Report to close out verification activity for each IFC
- Supporting peer reviews to ensure program work products meet system verification requirements.
- Supporting System Test engineers develop their test procedures to ensure correct requirements interpretation and RVS incorporation.
- Participating in Test Procedure peer reviews.
- Supporting Adjudication of test findings based on understanding of required systems behaviors
- Performing system definition activities for features and DRs, including by defining use cases, requirements, and feature acceptance criteria.
- Participating in investigation of early issues and findings to understand if requirements are impacted, and to support criticality adjudication
- Coordinating with REs and System Test to ensure integrated functions are ready for the test team to formally verify.
- Leveraging your ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment, showing your action oriented, strong attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
- Using your experience supporting Systems Engineering Milestones SRR, PDR and CDR.
- Leveraging your knowledge of experience in full lifecycle of Systems Engineering, including requirements decomposition, test planning, requirements verification and requirements management.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and at least 8 years of relevant professional / military engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and at least 6 years of relevant professional / military engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and at least 4 years of relevant professional / military engineering experience.
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret SCI clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
- Experience in System Test
- Experience with DOORS, Confluence, and JIRA.
- Experience in ICD development and integration
- Experience with multiple disciplines across Systems Engineering, incl. requirements, integration, technical configuration management (CM or Technical Baseline), cyber
- Experience with Agile Design Methodology
