Description:WHAT WE'RE DOING
Lockheed Martin is seeking a dynamic Subcontract Manager (Staff level) to support the Vertical Launching System (VLS) program, managing major subcontractors. You will work side-by-side with engineers, program managers, and senior leadership who share a "no limits" mindset and a commitment to delivering extraordinary results.
THE WORK
• As the Subcontract Manager, this position will be responsible for the management of supplier cost, schedule, and technical performance on various complexity levels
• Responsible for supplier performance; focus on continuous supplier improvement
• Leads multifunctional subcontract management teams
• Holds procurement delegation, creates and signs supplier agreements and purchase orders within established authority
• Leads the development of subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions subcontracts in support of development and production contracts
• Prepares bid packages, conducts bidders' conferences, develops evaluation criteria, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates subcontract provisions including price, selects or recommends subcontractors, writes subcontract packages, prepares awards and administers resulting subcontracts and required change activity
• Leads multifunctional subcontract management teams
• Holds procurement delegation, and creates and signs supplier agreements and purchase orders within established authority
• Negotiates complex subcontracts, ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, and Lockheed Martin policies, and maximize program value.
• Proactively spots technical, schedule, cost, and compliance risks; develop and execute mitigation plans.
• Builds strong, collaborative relationships with internal partners (program management, engineering, finance) and external suppliers and government customers.
• Champions process optimization, Lean/Six Sigma initiatives, and best in class procurement practices across the portfolio.
• Models and enforces the highest standards of business ethics, responsible sourcing, and sustainable practices.
• Supports proposal activities, ensuring supply chain best practices are embedded in SOW development, RFP creation, negotiation, and bid strategy.
• Travel - Up to 75% travel to supplier sites, and program meetings.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply
Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive subcontract/contract management or operations experience in aerospace, defense, or a high technology environment
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 75% of the
time. Travel is dependent on on-site requirements / needs at various supplier sites and will vary month to month.
Desired Skills:
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of new
program startups and development to production
processes.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $95,000 - $167,440. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
