MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
*BS degree in materials science & engineering, chemistry, physics, or related degree.
*Generally has 7+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.
*Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills
Desired Skills:
*10+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.
*Experience with military aerospace materials and process specifications
*Experience with the development, evaluation, qualification, flight test, and fielding of low observable materials
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

- Analyze, research, design, and develop materials and related fabrication processes for low observable applications.
- Develop material, processing, and quality engineering specifications and design allowables.
- Conduct material property analysis, failure analysis, life predictions, and define requirement specifications.
- Review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.
- Support development and production programs with up to 10% travel as needed.
